PROTECTED FAT (FAT WHICH WATCHES THROUGH THE FATHER)
PROFAT, a calcium soap made from distilled palm oil of fatty acids, is a completely reliable source of protected fat in the production of ruminant rations.
PROFAT is produced through a unique manufacturing process developed by Schils B.V.
PROFAT is a combination of fatty acids and calcium, bound together by a chemical compound that forms a salt:
R-COO
Ca
R-COO
Unlike oleic fats (triglycerides, free fatty acids), PROFAT does not affect the metabolism in the rumen. Calcium salt of fatty acid does not dissolve in the rumen.
– PROFAT does not cover fiber in the rumen.
– PROFAT does not prevent the action of microorganisms in the rumen.
The calcium salt of the fatty acid decomposes in the acidic environment of the abomasum. After the hydrolysis of fatty acids and calcium, they freely pass through the duodenum, where digestion and absorption takes place.
The absorption coefficient of PROFAT fatty acids is 96%.
