Profat – protected fat
Profat is a protected fat.
Presented by calcium salts of fatty acids. Due to the protection of calcium, the pro-salt is not susceptible to the influence of the bacteria of the rumen and is split only in the small intestine.
Advantages of using Profata in ruminant ration:
– a reliable source of fat, and consequently energy. During oxidation fats produce 2.25 times more energy than carbohydrates;
– thanks to the protection of calcium does not interfere with the process of normal fermentation of fibrous carbohydrates;
– increases the synthesis of milk fat due to long-chain fatty acids, which, after being released from calcium in the small intestine and bypassing the liver, immediately enter the mammary gland;
– contains in the composition of irreplaceable linoleic acid. This fatty acid is not synthesized in the body and is found only in feed. She takes part in the synthesis of the prostaglandin hormone, which stimulates uterine contractions.
